Speaker: midterm progress Ambroise Bellec

Hey guys, I’ve been out of the loop for a while trying to figure my things out…

For my midterm I chose to take a more “product design” approach to the project, and decided to model a simple studio audio monitor. I produce electronic music myself and have used a bunch of those. This design is simple but focuses on angle and beveling of the case which should theoretically attempt to reduce sonic internal bouncing within the monitor, eventually releasing a clearer and more honest sound for the producer. This was pretty fun to model, I like to stay strict on grid and design using a more architectural process. I am currently taking another Maya class called CG2. It’s a difficult class that involved creating a character and placing that character into a scene, for animation. The way we design the characters are similar to sculpting from imagination and eye, but for this project I learned a little bit about inputting your own values and centering objects relative to other objects (the spheres and the case were aligned and then deleted with a difference command).  It’s a difficult process but a more precise one.

1 2 3 4I will get this printed for next class.
